Around the Corner… Scott Died

Around the corner.
Around the corner I have a friend.
In this great city that has no end.It days go by and weeks rush on.
Before I know it the years gone.
And I never see my old friend’s face
for life is a swift and terrible race.
He knows I like them just as well.
As in the days when I rang his bell.
And he rang mine.
We were younger then,
now we are busy, tired men:
tired with plain foolish game
tired of trying to make a name
“tomorrow,” I say, I’ll call on Jim “just to show that I’m thinking of him
but tomorrow comes in tomorrow goes
and the distance between us grows and grows
around the corner yet miles away…”here’s a telegram sir…Jim died today
and that’s what we did and deserve in the endaround the corner a vanished friend

I like to dedicate this post to Scott… I went searching for him the other day, only to find out in the disappeared five years ago. He was a dear and close friend, a mutual friend told me he disappeared. I searched to couple different avenues and found out he died of a heart attack. I’ll miss ya Scott.

Dr Kevorkian is dead..

Mr Death himself is dead

Doctor Jack Kevorkian is dead, apparently of pulmonary thrombosis, after spending the last few weeks in a Michigan hospital. He had long suffered from hepatitis C, to the point that his lawyer told a parole board in 2006 that he had “less than a year to live.” He was 83 years old.

What Gender clicks more ads in business

A survey conducted between January and July of this year and undertaken by Bizo, an online ad targeting firm, studied over 80 million business professionals, and they found that when it comes to B2B ads, women tend to have a higher CTR than men, but men are more likely to register for free trials, download, or even buy than women.

The study further observed that men more often click at 3:00am (EST) and end up acting at 4pm, whereas women prefer to delay their clicks till 5am, and act at 11am.
The survey also showed that most business people who click are either from publishing, accounting, drug stores/pharmacies, veterinary services, or agriculture sectors, while business people in the least likely to click category tend to be from the car rental, aerospace and defense manufacturing, media/music,

boats and marine, manufacturing, or higher education sectors. Business people from business services, media/internet, hospitality, and advertising/marketing are more likely to act on an extended offer, whereas business people who are least likely to act are mostly from the same sector as those who are least likely to click. The survey rounded off with top clickers from operations change management, IT, database, government sales support, and operations compliance categories, whereas those with the most actions were mostly from the C-Level executive class, IT, medical/health, Marketing/Advertising sectors.

I”m of the honest opinion, if a website can send your website 50k-100K hits in one day (like yahoo, msn) and they do a front page feature about your product or site they should at the minimum… Notify the website and or company of the impending flood of traffic as most of these companies are not on a dedicated server…the site can go down quickly… and that wonderful flood of traffic potential sales immediately goes down the drain.

How can you stop this flood of traffic from overloading your companies website server and still keep within your budget… PRAY it never happens to you. but what works best is PLAN on it happening to you. Expect the best prepare for the worse.
